DR. AARON BILOVECKY, AUD
DIRECTOR OF AUDIOLOGY
Aaron Received his Doctoral Degree in Audiology from the A.T. Still University: School of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona. He has been practicing Audiology since 2005. Prior to that, he completed his Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The Ohio State University. Aaron is currently the Director of the Audiology Department for Ear Nose & Throat Specialists of Florida.
Growing up in Ohio, Aaron spent a lot of time with his grandmother who had developed hearing problems. Aaron noticed that even with her hearing aids on she still struggled to hear his voice as well as the voices of other family members. When Aaron was at Ohio State he discovered Audiology and helped his grandmother obtain a proper evaluation from an audiologist, and helped her get the right set of hearing aids that assisted her to communicate more successfully.
Ever since then, Aaron made it his mission to help his patients obtain the most appropriate hearing devices and to make sure they are set the best they can be to help make his patients’ understand speech more optimally.
In his spare time, Aaron enjoys spending time outdoors, building furniture, and panting pictures of Florida’s beautiful scenery. Aaron is also a fan of college football and looks forward to watching all the big games.
DR. KAREN MAJOR, AUD
Dr. Major completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in communication disorders. During this time she was honored with an externship at the Clark School for the Deaf where she worked alongside children with cochlear implants. Upon completing undergraduate studies, Dr. Major was one of four students accepted into the Masters program at CUNY Brooklyn College. She completed externships at such notable facilities as Brooklyn College, Queens Hospital, and Bellevue Hospital. After extensive training she later graduated top in her class and was the recipient of a merit scholarship. She graduated from her doctoral program at the University of Florida summa cum laude while practicing full time.
Dr. Major’s many studies have led her to be an expert in both pediatric and adult diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology. Her services include comprehensive audiological examinations, tinnitus evaluation, dizziness examinations and treatment, and hearing aid evaluations and fittings.
In her free time, Dr. Major is the choreographer for the dance team at Florida Gulf Coast University and enjoys making memories with her husband and daughter. She looks forward to providing superior audiological care to all of her patients, past and present, in Southwest Florida.
DR. ALICIA MOORE, AUD
Dr. Moore (Torres) received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Marquette University in 2003. She was passionate about pursuing a career in Speech Pathology until she took her first audiology class. She then moved to Mount Pleasant, Michigan where she obtained her Doctoral Degree in Audiology from Central Michigan University in 2007.
During her studies at Central Michigan University, she was involved in a variety of clinical rotations, including hospitals, private practices, rehabilitation clinics and public schools. She completed her externship year at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Originally from Milwaukee, WI, her studies led her to Michigan, Arkansas and then finally to Florida, where she accepted her first audiology position. She has been in Florida for over 10 years and has worked as a clinical audiologist in medical practices and in private practices as well. She is a compassionate health care provider and it is her goal to improve patients health, well being and enjoyment of life by improving their ability to communicate with their loved ones.
In her spare time, Dr. Moore (Torres) enjoys spending time at museums and historical places with her husband, who is a history buff. She also loves doting on her two babies, a Brussels Griffon and a Boxer. Reading, crafting, and word puzzles are also things she enjoys.
LORI COOK, MS, CCC-A
Lori graduated with her graduate degree in Audiology from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO in 1997. An audiologist with over 22 years of experience, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including private practice, ENT clinics, hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. She has worked extensively with both adults and children. Areas of specialty include diagnostics, amplification, aural rehabilitation, and tinnitus.
Lori is dedicated to empowering her patients with the knowledge and understanding needed to be their own best advocates for improving their daily lives through effective communication with family and friends. Her priority is to make sure all her patients have the information they need to make their best hearing health care decisions, and to provide them with the choices in technology to achieve their goals.
Lori moved from the Kansas City area where she practiced for the last 15 years. She is a huge sports fan and loves to watch all sports, but especially professional football. She loves to go to the beach and is enjoying all that Fort Myers has to offer.
